FAQs & Fees

How are you seeing clients?

I am seeing clients in NY & NJ remotely via Telehealth and in-person in Montclair, NJ.

Convenient, Confidential and Effective

  • Confidentiality is of the utmost importance which is why I have chosen DOXY, a HIPAA compliant platform for its added security in order to maintain the privacy of my clients.

  • Clients are provided a direct link to DOXY which can then be used for all appointments. There is no app to download and there are no additional fees for the client.

  • Studies show and clients agree Teletherapy is convenient and effective and brings the same level of therapeutic expertise right to you.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out of network provider and have made the decision not to be paneled with insurance companies. In order for you to be reimbursed, insurance companies require a diagnosis and can request further documentation from session notes. These requirements can impact your privacy and dictate what kind of treatment you receive. I take a non-pathological approach to psychotherapy by addressing the root causes of symptoms and choose to let what's in the best interest of my clients dictate treatment.

Should you decide you wish to utilize out of network benefits I am more than happy to provide a superbill and diagnosis (if applicable) which you can then submit.

Please note, clients are required to pay for sessions at the time of service. Our services are provided to you and charged to you directly, not your insurance company. If interested in utilizing your benefits it is important to check with your insurance company prior to your appointment to verify the specifics of your mental health coverages as not all types of therapy, particularly couples and family therapy are covered by insurance.

How Much Does Therapy Cost?

I truly believe therapy is an investment in you and your relationships.  It is a decision to prioritize your mental health, physical health and overall well-being.  I value your time, my time as well as the services I provide and charge accordingly. Sessions for new clients begin at $225. Due to Covid and Telehealth I solely take credit cards at this time. Additional transaction fees may apply.

Cancellation Policy:

I value your time and set aside a regular weekly time slot for each of my clients. Please understand that cancellations within 24 hours of our appointment and no-shows will be charged the full session fee.  These missed appointments are not reimbursable by insurance.

How Often Should We Meet?

I recommend clients begin with weekly sessions in order to establish a solid therapeutic relationship and gain momentum towards client goals. I am open to increasing frequency of sessions if deemed to be in the therapeutic interest of the client as well as moving to bi-weekly sessions as we work together and progress. Please know engaging in regular more frequent sessions and doing the work outside of session often results in experiencing an increase in desired change.

We will discuss regularly and openly our progress towards goals as well as how thing are going.  You will at some point begin to feel you no longer need to come to therapy and we will communicate around what termination will look like together.

What do I need before my first visit?

Prior to your visit you will need to read through, complete and submit the required forms.  Receipt of the signed forms solidifies our working relationship and the terms of our therapeutic contract. I will email you a direct link where you can access these forms via our Simple Practice portal. Once you have read and reviewed, please feel free to contact me in advance of our appointment and bring any questions with you to therapy at any time.
